finally got back into it after a tough week at my real job and got the pair of 7K30's for JJ wired up and tested.
Things worked out better than i had expected, and spice came to my rescue with the one quirk that showed up. I just finished measuring both channels and for the most part the plots overlap the ideal from 10hz to 20K. I The worst part appears to be above 20K where I am about a quarter of a dB up at 30K and a dB up at 40K. (damn coil capacitances) This all in reference to the mathemetical plot of the ideal with Allen Wright's third time contant.
I'll get them off to JJ and hopefully they will make it into the "system" for the RMAF. I must say this was a really educational experience for me and later in the year, i'll look for a poor soul who wants to try a higher Z version, but for now, i'll say it is time to close the chapter on this design and say anything below a 10K impedance is for the most part in the can from the theory and building standpoint. The actual logistics of getting a custom LCR become a bit more complex. More on that later.
